Second time to Lebanon
Josephine has been in Beirut in the Lebanon, at the invitation Nadine and Hussein at the Learning Centre for the Deaf. The week at the end of October, was arranged for Josephine to give training for local audiologists, hearing aid dispensers, speech therapists and hearing support practitioners.
Josephine also saw local babies and children with hearing loss and deafness, to adjust or fit new hearing aids. She was able to meet with staff from the audiology training program at the American University of Beirut, which has a very impressive new program.
Josephine was particularly pleased to be able to visit Hamoudi, a little boy from Syria, who she fitted with hearing aids in April. It was wonderful to see him with his family, and the progress he is making. She was also able to give them batteries which were donated by the Jackson family in England, as battery supplies are a major challenge for refugee families.
